Our approach
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run The Change District. We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
What we collect
- Account info. If you create an account, we store your email address (and, if you sign in with Google, GitHub, Apple, or X, the basic profile info that provider shares). Authentication is handled by our provider, Clerk.
- Your wishlist. The products you save. For signed-out visitors this lives only in your browser. When you sign in, it is synced to our database so you can access it across devices.
- Basic usage data. Standard technical information (such as your device and pages visited) needed to operate and secure the Site.
How we use it
To provide your account and wishlist, sync your saved items across devices, keep the Site secure, and improve how it works. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
Affiliate links & third parties
When you click an affiliate link and visit a brand or retailer, you leave our Site and their own privacy policy applies. Affiliate networks may use cookies to attribute a purchase so we receive credit. We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate — including Clerk (authentication) and our affiliate partners — and share only what is necessary for those services to function.
Cookies & local storage
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your wishlist, and run the Site. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies when you click through to a retailer.
Your choices
You can clear your browser’s local wishlist at any time, and you can delete your account, which removes your synced wishlist from our database. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings.
