For this bar, we took inspiration from Lex’s refined sugar-free oat bars and put our chocolatey spin on it: date and maple-sweetened Ugandan dark chocolate, with our crispy toasted oat topping. We knew this would be good, but it really surprised us. The Ugandan cacao, warm maple sugar and caramelly dates  harmonize so perfectly that an autumnal spice flavor emerges as it melts! Magic! We think this tastes like a cinnamon-spiced chocolate brownie, or some kind of double chocolate oatmeal raisin cookie. A generous sprinkle of toasted oats adds the perfect crispy bite.
